Noi Bai international airport expanded T1 passenger terminal opens.
The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) under the Ministry of Transport on December 29 officially opened its new expanded T1 passenger terminal (or E waiting area) at Noi Bai international airport.
Right after that, as many as 3,000 passengers from Jetstar Airlines were warmly welcomed and served at the E waiting area.
With 25,000 square meters of usable space, the E waiting area project connects to the currently operating A waiting area of the airport via an enclosed corridor with similar architecture design, thus enhancing the capacity of the whole building.
ACV has invested around VND500 billion for the project, meeting the demand for 3 million passengers per year through 5 departure and 2 arrival gates.
The E waiting area is equipped with 38 normal check-in booths, 1 out of gouge check-in booth, 4 round-table luggage points, 2 escalators (1 for handicapped passengers in the immigration procedures and security control area, and 1 additional for the public hall), as well as security and maintenance systems.
The operation of the new E waiting area contributes to easing the over-load situation of the T1 passenger terminal.
In the latest news, the Vietnam National Flag Carrier Vietnam Airlines announced that all check-in counters of 10 domestic routes departing for Vinh, Dong Hoi, Chu Lai, Quy Nhon, Tuy Hoa, Da Lat, Pleiku, Buon Ma Thuot, Can Tho and Phu Quoc will move from B waiting area (1st floor) to the E waiting area (2nd floor).
Besides, the booking office, business class lounge, and lost & found sections will also be served at the E waiting area. In the first period, Vietnam Airlines passengers are advised to check-in at counters 119-127.
